Plenty of Fish… *crystal* fish!

Karen N. of Downingtown, PA, ordered her jewelry from me in February for her March wedding. She contacted me when her jewelry arrived:

“Wow, thank you Amy!

I LOVE your stuff!! My jewelry is so pretty it made me cry! Not kidding! I told my brother about your site so he can order something for his girlfriend, and I told my wedding planner… I’m telling everyone!

Separately, I have a very strange request. I am wondering with your skill set if you could do something custom for me… but it isn’t really jewelry. Would you be interested in entertaining the prospect of making two fish for me? I know this sounds bizarre but I can explain…”

Karen went on to explain that she and her future husband had met on an online dating site called “Plenty of Fish”. She wanted to have two crystal fish to incorporate into her wedding cake!

She wanted two fish (with eye colors to match her and her fiance’s eyes) to suspend inside the “bowl” separator tier between the cake layers. Now I’ve never made fish out of Swarovski crystals before, but I wanted to help Karen out. We had both looked online and couldn’t find any fish that she liked for the cake. So… here they are! Karen’s two crystal fish! And yes, they are smooching. That was Karen’s idea. I think it was a really good one!
